Greg, hopefully this is the place for even more questions:

What's the aspect ratio of the printed calendar photo, so we can make it that way right off the bat?
Each member may submit a maximum of two photos per monthly contest.
What does this mean? Is this a contest to be had every month? The calendar is only one month away, so I'm sure I missed something. Or are there separate contests for each month of the calendar?

gregr 11/28/2006 09:55 PM

My mistake- all the photos will be used in the 2008 calendar. We will have a bakers dozen [13] months worth of contests (one contest per month and this month makes 13). Everyone can submit one photo per contest-- and each contest lasts a month.
No calendar this year - sorry for the confusion and thanks for catching that.
Greg

Regarding aspect ration- good question :p It would be ideal if everyone would submit images that fit the standard 8x11.5".

melev 12/01/2006 12:00 AM

Gregr, you're the expert. Are you telling me you can't just turn your head to the side and hack up 13 images in your sleep? ;)

gregr 12/01/2006 10:33 AM

Lol- this is a group effort :)

Isn't the standard 8.5 x 11? :D

gregr 12/11/2006 11:33 PM

Why yes it is!

When does each months voting end? Or does it not end until the end of the contest? Just wondering.

gregr 12/30/2006 04:26 PM

Voting ends the last day of the month. The winners will be announced shortly thereafter.

Couldn't find an answer to this in the FAQ.
Where and how can we vote and when does voting starts like for the May contest) ?

thx for any help
Michael

There will be a new [sticky] thread for the voting, and now we're aiming for the voting to start at the beginning of each month, and the voting period is approximately ten days.

How about an invertebrate month?

WillWorkForFish 07/04/2007 11:07 AM

When does the july contest start and what's the topic?

gregr 07/05/2007 02:07 AM

The July contest will be starting very soon (tomorrow hopefully) and the subject is super top secret, need to know only. But since you asked... it's invertebrates :D

WillWorkForFish 07/05/2007 02:38 AM

great, thanks..

nwrogers 07/12/2007 03:52 PM

When will the voting for the June/wrasse photo contest start? or has it started and I just missed it. No big deal I am just wondering, thanks!

gregr 07/12/2007 06:21 PM

It should be up soon- hopefully by tomorrow.

KurtsReef 08/09/2007 09:55 AM

Am I missing it? Do not see a voting thread for July, will it be in the photography forum?

beerguy 08/09/2007 09:59 AM

It's not there yet but should be soon. ;)

KurtsReef 08/09/2007 12:46 PM

Thanks Doug, thought perhaps it was placed elsewhere in the forums where I was not seeing it.

beerguy 08/09/2007 12:47 PM

Nope. I've just been flakey.

;)

Xirxes23 08/16/2007 02:00 AM

Will you need a higher resolution picture of the winning pic to fit the calendar?

gregr 08/16/2007 09:01 AM

Yes- most definitely.

FishyBiz 11/07/2007 12:21 PM
