medusa worm
check out this worm. I think it's a medusa or spaghetti worm. I'm not sure why it's stuck to the side of my tank.

gross, looks like a speghetti worm, I have some but they are usually in my sand bed, since you have a bare bottom tank it might just be lost

It lives inside a little seashell, it actually DRILLED a HOLE in the side of the seashell and puts its tentacles out. I think I figured out why it was on the side of the tank. One of my hermit crabs decided to evict it and take the seashell!

It's a hair worm. AFAIK, they have no capacity to drill holes in anything. It was likely just taking advantage of a pre-existing hole made by one of the many other creates that can drill them.
FWIW, a medusa "worm" is actually a small type of sea cucumber, not a worm. |
Wow, thanks, greenbean! that was very helpful.

I think the spaghetti worms are so cool. I got my first one (that I've seen) with my new stubby finger leather (along with some ctenophores). Hitchhikers are fun IMO...less the hydroids and flatworms.
