first one to the left looks like a
dendrophyllia coarctata second one could be either dendrophyllia arbuscula or balanophyllia ponderosa or just a tubastrea sp. (common sun coral) can you post a picture with its tentacles ? the last one is the only other one that has been offered, which is very new and not common in the hobby, i believe its dendrohpyllia coccinea. |
I love them, wish I had some, any benefactors out there? LOL:)
Are these Dendrophyllia?

It looks like this coral for sale everywhere at the local lfs!
clownfishcrazy sorry those are sun coral. Dendros are much bigger. I will try to get a pic to compare the two for you.
That's why we all love dendros, they open during the day & stay open
clownfishcrazy- did you buy them from a lfs? I think those a just really big tubestrea. The dendros are easily as big around as your finger/thumb on the trunk, so I don't think those are the ones

are dendros non photosynthetic just like the tubastrea?
It said the family is, but these stay out all day
from my experience they rather come out when there is lighting than in a "dark" tank.............. :blown: sorry i always wanted to use that ..............
