Update. I fiannly got a few more things done to the build.

Put up some shelfs and made a table to frag on. Also got the dehumidifier hooked up and it drains into the top Measuring Trashcan so i don't have to empty it all the time.

Added a phosphate and carbon reactor

Got some Phyto Rotifers and Pods Brewing. And of course some Brine shrimp for the horses.

Thats all for now.

I had to put something in that little tank so i got some mandarins.

Turns out my well water had high CO2 and was using up all my DI resin after about 60 gallons or so. So i designed a degasser. It works really well! Iv made around 300gallons and haven't had to change my resin!!

Also it turns out my Fireplace platform that i wanted to put the tank on isn't solid. So i'm going to rip it out. Alot more work but ill beable to get a bigger tank.
I'm thinking either 5'wide by 6' long by 25" tall or 8' long!
Well thats All for now.

I have another crazy idea but im not sure how i would run the return. I have this brick fireplace spot in my living room but there is no fire place on it any more. its about 5x6' and i had an idea about putting a cube tank on it instead of in my bedroom. But not sure how i would run the return back to the fish room that is on the other side of the hosue. i was going to just run it outside then around the house and back in the fish room but the only thing is the drain would have to be up about 2 foot on the side of the house so it goes down hill into the sump in the fish room. Any ideas??
You're obviously a very handy guy. Why not fashion some type of piping chase at the baseboards and run your supply and return lines through the chase? Shouldn't be a problem unless you would have to cross a hallway. You could also run it up in the attic (like people have to do when they replumb their houses).

PJsStuff 12/19/2007 03:46 PM

i would do that but there is a door on each side of the tank. also i have no attic :-/

Update

Update!

I decided to scrap the Fireplace idea. Im going to put the tank in the wall between the living room and my bed room where the TV is (who needs a TV anyways?).

That way ill get to have it by my Bed like i wanted but also other people can see it without going into my room. I also won't have to run the pipes outside i can just run them along the baseboard or possible in the wall.

I'v decided to go with an acrylic 84"long by 48"wide by either 30" or 24" tall tank depending how much the price difference is. I would prefer a glass tank but getting one that big down into the valley and into my house would be about impossible. So acrylic it is :sad2:

My frag tank is about full so i built another shelf for two more.
The bottom shelf is my fragging table and the middle and top shelf are for the frag tanks.

Wore me out building that thing so i put it to the test. Should hold up.

Got a light mover for the current frag tank to try and save some $$ on Electricity. Might be using them on the main tank too but im not sure yet. ANyone got any movies with Large tanks that have light movers?

Well that’s all for now.

gary faulkner 01/11/2008 09:18 PM

What's the speed on the mover?
Where can I get one?

PJsStuff 01/11/2008 10:30 PM

I got it from Dr foster and smith It takes it about a min to get to the other side.

mcliffy2 01/12/2008 01:38 AM

setup looks like it is coming along cool. Saw your cultures and guessing you are feeding them to the seahorse tank? just making sure b/c you need lots of pods to keep up w/ 2 mandarins in that small of a tank.
