70w MH or 96w PC for eclipse 12g

System is a 12g Eclipse, with sps, lps, mushroom, candy cane, zoas, xenia frogspawn, hammer, trachphylia

I have a 70w MH ballast, medium socket, reflector that i can use, not currently hooked up.

I have a 96w PC 10k/actinic setup in a 12g nano. Everything is growing good, splittiing, etc.

would the 70w MH be enough of a replacement for the 96w PC.

Was wanting to put two 96w PC's into my 110g if the 70w MH would be sufficient for the 12g nano. I have a V of darkness between my 2- 175w MH.

my other concern in heat output, how much more heat is there to a 70w MH compared to the 96w PC. I have a small fan blowing air through my stock hood, tank temp stays at 78. PC puts out a good deal of heat, reflector is hot to the touch.

thanks in advance,

Dustin

I have a 150w MH over my 12 and it stays right at 80 degrees. It also has a 15 gallon sump that helps a bit with dissipating the heat, but I don't think the 70w would be too much of a problem.
