tank mate for undulated trigger
I have a 100gal, with tonga branch and substrate that houses a 5in undulated trigger.
what type of wrasse ( around 7in in size) would go with this female trigger? |
None in my opinion.
|
A nice big Rock!
They don't tend to play nice, but if you want a Lunar wrasse maybe? |
I know of some lunar wrasse that might be able to hold their own, how long has the trigger been kept isolated?
|
Vampire pseudochromis!!
|
I housed one with a 2.5' snowflake eel just fine.

I'm pretty sure I've seen one with a sulfer head moray those are real mean
|
If that undulated is alone in that tank, he's going to be hard-pressed to let anyone else in there.
As for a wrasse, a sensible choice would be the lunar due to it's speed and activity level. That's not saying it won't be stressed if the undulated decided to chase it relentlessly. I work at a LFS, and we've had a 4" undulated trigger brought back 4 times already due to agressiveness. Just thought I should let ya know. :) |
How long has the undulated been in there. If he has been in the tank a couple months he probably thinks that tank is his. What you could try is to add 3 fish at once. That's what I do. Spreads out the hostility. Maybe try a lunar wrasse, a grouper, and a puffer. All will be pretty capable of a good defense.
