Hello,

Can any please tell me if they recognize the critter in the below photo? It is really very small (smaller than a dime by about half) and is wedged between two rocks. Seems to be attached to one of them by a tube of some sort. It retracts when startled, but does not seem to fully pull into the tube. I have searched various books, web forums, and image libraries trying to find if it is a specific kind of tube work, but it does not look anything like the images I have found.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks all, for your time.

It looks to be an aipstasia. You need to get rid of it asap. There are chemicals you can buy.

I agree it looks like aptaisia

Thanks for the replies. All photos I have seen of aipstasia show very long tentacles, so I am not sure? Do some have short and stubby arms?
