How many fish per reef tank?

I have a 46 gallon reef tank. How many fish can can be put in the tank if I change the water and clean the tank every one to two weeks?

Add slowly and watch your nitrates. The more you add the harder it will be to keep nitrates and phosphates under control.

A fuge and have a good skimmer will help that. But u have to watch what you put in there check compatibility charts for fish and some fish just can survie in 75 gallon under tanks, such as tangs.

IMO. A quick calc is 1 fish per 10G. Even small and cute fish like Clownfish can become very territorial and kill :)

I had 7 fish in my 40g without a problem...BUT none of them were a species that got very big and they were all pretty peaceful fish.
