Blenny / Goby compatability

I just purchased a Diamond Watchman Goby, but would also like to eventually add a Starry Blenny. Will these guys compete at all? I have a 90 gallon tank.

I would think so but just my 2 cents...I have an algae blenny and he will not let anything in the tank resembling another blenny. Maybe someone else has a different experience with this...

Gobies and blennies usually don't fight. These two aren't competing for the same food source. You may see some gaping and blustering establishing territory, but probably no fight.
I do hope your tank is over 100g, or that that goby is eating prepared food, or he may rapidly upset your rockwork with burrowing and then starve to death.

Thanks for the replies, everyone.

Sk8r, I have a 90 gallon tank. Everywhere that I have looked, 70gal is the highest minimum tank size I've seen. When speaking to the guy at the LFS, he said that they were feeding him small meaty foods. He's having fun sifting sand right now, and from the looks of my sand bed there is plenty for him to eat. If I notice that he is not gaining weight, or worse losing it I will take a more aggressive approach to feeding him. For now he is getting whatever is in the sand bed and the cyclopeeze that fall to the bottom during feeding times.

ps: Mr. goby is only about 2" long right now. Also, he has a long spine on his dorsal fin-- I'm assuming this means he is male?

Well, the goby is officially a glutton. He grabs any food that is within his reach. No starving gobies here! He has a pot-belly now.

Does anyone find that algea blennies (and other blennies in general) have a problem with scooter blennies?
