Water Manifold

I am plumbing a manifold that will run my return, refugium, calcium reactor, phos reactor. Should I use ball valves or gate valves for restricting the flow? Calfo says that gate valves are the best.... what do you think.

Gate valves are about 2-3 times more expensive than ball valves, but they certainly do provide more precision on controlling flow. For things that will seldom be changed once you set them, ball valves are a good choice, especially for ON-OFF situations like returns. Gate valves really shine when used on skimmer output flow adjustments. As for reactors, it all depends on what you want to control in or on the reactor.
