Kalk

I got my Calcuim up to 460 by dripping Kalk. So now that it is where I want it, am I supposed to continue to drip kalk to cover evap loss or do nothing until it drops?

It should help you hold that position. Continue to drip.
It will fall once you run out of magnesium. Kalk does not supply that, so test for it to see where you are, and plan accordingly. Mg s/b 3x the cal reading.

Now you should slow the drip to try and maintain it around 450, or experiment with the same drip just less lime to water ratio if you rely on that for evaporation. Magnesium is also important to monitor, try to catch it before it drops.

Every tank is different, and the amount of kalk consumed per day will have to be calculated with some trial and error work. The evaporation rate can change, too, so that needs to be watched. In generall, I'd just back off the amount of lime per gallon and see how alkalinity shapes up. Calcium should track alkalinity well enough that testing every couple of months should be fine.
