Algae Bloom???
 

I have recently seen Algae, mostly green but some brown, growing on the gravel of my 300 gal mixed reef. I have never had this before. Any thoughts as to why now and how to eliminate it?

I read about this on another forum recently....

when your DI resin in your RODI unit is exhausted, it releases stored silicates and phosphates, which could fuel an algae bloom.

Otherwise, how long since you changed your bulbs? Light spectrum changes over time can fuel algae growth.
