Down to three protein skimmers

I have been doing some research on a few protein skimmers for m 210 FOWLR tank and I have narrowed it down to three: ASM G-5, G-6, or (leaning towards) Euro-reef RS250. I do not know as much about the ASM models so if anyone is using one/has used one please give me as much information as you can to make my decision the most informed one possible. Thank you.

I vote for Euro Reef

I just replaced my ER with a Reeflo Orca 250. Thats what I would get.

Euro-Reef for sure, just went through the same looking for a skimmer for my new setup and between ASM, Octopus and Euro-Reef I decided on the ER and couldn't be happier!

Out of those would also go ER.

If the euro-reef announcement is not a big deal tomorrow, looks like I'm going to order the RS 250. Anyone have any suggestions as to where to order from? The cheapest I've found so far is $475 plus 13.13 shipping from aquariumsupplycompany.com.

I ordered mine from premiumaquatics.com, they price matched the best deal I could find on them and had it instock when I needed it.

Customer service rocks from Premium Aquatics too which of course, is always a plus.

I have a RS-135 and love it.

I have dealt with plenty of ASMs and don't think I'll be dealing with anymore. I'd get the ER I prefer the recirc models myself. But like others said the reeflo orcas or what about DAS. Good skimmers, low electricity etc etc. So many options.

Is the RS-250 bettor than the new extreme 250 with the sicce pump? also, does the RS line come with an external skimmer?
I'm debating between a euro250 and a MT-HSA 250.

wmu2007 01/09/2008 10:17 PM

Down to the RS 250 and the ATI Bubble Master 250. I have gotten a number of different opinions on the two and I guess it comes down to who likes what. But has anyone tried both and noticed a difference? I know the ATI BM is more money, but I'm looking for quality and I've heard great things about both.

You should go with the Euro Reef - good skimmers.

asonitez 01/11/2008 01:42 PM

try a aqua-euro classic 250 i just ordered mine for 218.00 shipped. It looks to be an incredible skimmer.

Why not look into an Xtreme 200 or 250?

b16drag 01/12/2008 03:43 AM

I'm with Vader on this one, why not check out the MSX Xtreme skimmers... its like the clones of the bubble master even with the Sicce Pumps!
