anyone see any problems with having some mushrooms in a seahorse tank?

toastii_reef 01/01/2008 01:14 PM

umm dont quote me on it but i woundnt think so because it doesnt seem like something that would be easy to hitch on and they dont have bad stingers right? (nematoctsyts or something of the name-- or what ever cnidarians have :) )
i mean i didnt feel anything when i handled then to place in my reef tank-

also a mushroom cant eat them-- that i know of....

I have ricordeas, rhodactis and purple morphs in my tank and they are all fine.

nice, I was thinking of putting some rics. in.
thanks

They might not be safe with dwarfs or fry ... but I'm not sure. Maybe someone who knows will chime in. Also, I've heard the fuzzy mushrooms are bit more risky.

Rics are cool. All of the more common variety's are fine.

The elephant mushrooms should not be mixed as tehy will eat the seahorse, as well as many fish. Most LFS don't carry that species though.

I've housed my seahorses with 25-30 or so different mushroom variations, never a problem on my end.

Check out this tank:

The website takes you to a page with various videos. Select the 'Seahorse' video on the right of the page. Ever seen so many ricordeas?? I wish we got Ricordea florida here in Oz :sad2:

Here's some of my shrooms in my SH tank.

What kind of seagrass is that? I have been looking for some good seagrass for aquascaping but can not seem to find any. Also, what conditions must you provide for the grass to thrive?
