the clown the nem or both?

clown kinda looks like a crys. and the nem looks like a LTA and a nice one at that. just a guess though...let the experts come forth and speak:)

msman825 01/01/2007 02:29 PM

the clown

xbambamx 01/01/2007 03:25 PM

clarkii of some sort

phender 01/01/2007 03:43 PM

From that angle the clown looks like a chrysopterus (Blue-stripe, Orange-fin) clown to me.

BLKTANG 01/01/2007 05:36 PM

clarkii clown.

Slakker 01/01/2007 05:45 PM

Maybe it's the lighting, but that looks more like a Chrys. than a Clarkii to me.

JamesJR 01/01/2007 07:59 PM

I am gonna have to agree with it being a chrysopterus, this link is good at helping identify clowns.

Ron Popeil 01/02/2007 03:26 AM

i know it looks like a chrysopterus, but....something about the width of that midbar is seriously suggesting clarkii....

phender 01/02/2007 10:24 AM

I retract my chrysopterus. The second picture with the blur, shows the mid bar and a tail bar as well as an overall body shape that confirms that it is a clarki.

The reason i am asking is because it dont seem to want to except a mate. I have tried numorious times and she will end up killing them.

They are tough to match up IMO.

They are tough to match up IMO.
she's even harder to mate up:lol:  The blueish makes me wonder. I have added a couple that was not blueish and one that was. either will be ok for a few hours till they get close to that anemone. It's down hill after that, I'm thinking of putting her in a bucket with airstones for a couple days. Then throw another one in the main tank. then after a couple days throw her back in. I have a little one in qt now. yaw think it might work????

showjet98 01/02/2007 09:27 PM

looks like a hybrid between a chrys and a clarkii to me, they do have mixed pairings in the wild of these two species...

msman825 01/02/2007 09:53 PM

Here's what i done. I had 3 little ones in my qt. I called a freind he came got his 2.. So i threw her in there by her self and threw the other little one in the main tank, Will see how this goes. here's another pic

msman825 01/03/2007 08:58 PM

she dont like it in the qt tank. she goes from one end to the other back and fourth. the other little guy is starting to come out from hiding but has not touched the anemone. she's going back in tomorrow. I cant stand just watching her go back and fourth
