majano pest anemone

skinnyjoe1976 08/12/2007 04:28 PM

kalk it know before it spreads.

DJChesnutRabbit 08/12/2007 04:33 PM

I second the Majano. They will multiply like crazy!

mfp4073 08/12/2007 04:44 PM

I have a small rbta that died back and is slowly growing back to health. Looks exactly the same as mine in the pic. Does it move or shrink down? Try feeding it and see if it responds correctly.

sytanek 08/12/2007 07:25 PM

looks like mojano to me too. :P

reefnfish 08/12/2007 07:46 PM

Orange Ricordia polyp. Give it to me.

No, it's a crappy majano anemone.

As everyone has told you - will spread like wildfire when fed. Yikes!

55semireef 08/12/2007 07:58 PM

It's not a majano guys. I am not sure what the common name is but it's actually worse than a Majano. It has a more potent sting but can still rapidly spread like a Majano. If they are out in the open peel it off. If you can't do that use Joe's Juice.

MIKE ALERS 08/12/2007 09:10 PM

that suck's.i've been feeding it mysis shrimp thinking it was something cool.

seth16 08/14/2007 08:13 PM

MIKE ALERS 08/14/2007 09:23 PM

sytanek 08/14/2007 09:23 PM

It's a Majano.

sytanek 08/14/2007 09:25 PM

They can sometimes be very attractive looking, but none the less, a pest anemone.

MIKE ALERS 08/14/2007 09:26 PM

wow more bad news.....a just had a power surge and it took out my return pump and emperor filter.and now to top it all i got majano.what else can go wrong.

sytanek 08/14/2007 09:29 PM

Buy some Kalkwasser, find a small syringe, mix some kalk and water into a paste and inject it into/onto the majano. It will kill it 90% of the time, once in a while, they require a second shot.

sytanek 08/14/2007 09:31 PM

Try cleaning the return pump, then smacking it against something hard a couple times, mine did the same thing a couple weeks ago when Skinny Joe was over and we got mine working again.

MIKE ALERS 08/14/2007 09:31 PM

thanks for the info.

sytanek 08/14/2007 09:31 PM

As for the emperor, try unplugging/replugging it in a couple times, we had one we got working by doing this.

MIKE ALERS 08/14/2007 09:32 PM

no ithink mine's fried it smells like a burnt subwoofer.lol

sytanek 08/14/2007 09:33 PM

Well always worth a shot :P

MIKE ALERS 08/14/2007 09:34 PM

yeah im gonna try it.

55semireef 08/14/2007 11:29 PM

It's not a majano but you could still get rid of it like you would with a majano. ;)
