M-58, for 250 watters

jaefei 08/07/2007 09:57 PM

thanks for reply...is that just similar or is that true m-58 ?

JetCat USA 08/07/2007 10:10 PM

M-58 is a generic classification for 250w wire wound ballasts, it's an M-58 either way you look at it.

1. what MH bulb brand recomended to that ballast ? BLV or XM
2. is that pulse or probe starting method ballast ?

JetCat USA 08/07/2007 11:48 PM

1) XM are the most bang for the buck and what i use.

2) Pulse, which is generated by the start-up cap

what is the different between M58 and M80 ? only the amperes ?

JetCat USA 08/08/2007 10:52 PM

an M80 is for double ended bulbs (HQI). both are 250w ballasts.

jaefei 08/09/2007 12:00 PM

what things make the different between ballast for SE and DE ?
sorry, are you Mr sanjay joshi ?

JetCat USA 08/09/2007 01:05 PM

No, I'm not Sanjay but i thought you might like an answer to your questions so i offered my assistance.

jaefei 08/09/2007 10:29 PM

okey.thanks for all your replies.
what ballast are you using now for your MH ?

JetCat USA 08/09/2007 10:40 PM

IceCap and ARO electronics, i did away with all my magnetic coil ballasts due to the heat the produce. the savings on power using the e-ballasts v/s the coil isn't overly high, I'd venture to say 10-15% but the heat difference of the ballast is a world of difference.
