Best way to transport a coral?
 

I'm Going about 60 miles and need it to arrive safe and happy.......

Cooler, bucket or can you buy the bags they use at the LFS?

60-90 min trip? Double bag it and keep it snug in a cooler. If you are really weary, you can tape the cooler to seal it up and make it airtight. Can also buy those heat packs.

Can I use the large zip lock bags??? Where do I get a plastic bag at?

60 miles is nothing. Just keep it in a warm part of the car or in a cooler and it will be fine.

I was gonna put it in the cooler with 5g of water but I would rather bag it if I can find some bags.......I'm not too worried about heat, I'll keep the car nice and toasty:D

I did 100 miles with some corals in tupperware placed in a cooler... and the heat going to keep them warm... and everything made it perfectly fine.

If the corals are on med to large LR then I would get a big tote that will hold all of them comfortably...place them in it, cover with water and go that route. That is what we did when we bought our systems.

Smaller pieces...definitly the cooler and ziplock bags!

Just some bags and a cooler will work fine, im transporting my nano home from college tm (200+ miles) and thats what i plan on doing....its worked well for me in the past.

Cooler -- I have transported corals over 500 miles -- Depending on what it is you may need to protect it -- it is always best to find a way to float a hard coral. softies can just sit on the bottom of the cooler.

Go to a lfs and ask them to get one of the boxes that they get from corals being shipped in -- Those containers are awesome -- they have a bag around the Styrofoam and a bag inside -- a Styrofoam lid and you can completely seal the container -- that is best case IMO.
