I'd like to get in on this as well, I have tons of zoos

kidzatheart 07/30/2005 06:10 PM

I am just curious, are the zoos sent as loose polyps or mounted?

Fcwham 07/30/2005 06:47 PM

I think most people prefer that they be mounted on at least something small. I find it near impossible to glue a zoo polyp down so it will stay without it sliming it's way out. I've heard running fishing line through it's base and tieing it down is a good method for mounting loose polyps, but I've never tried it.

Mounted to rubble at least is best

Fcwham 07/30/2005 09:14 PM

you can see how I do it in the pic above. I mount by rubber banding them to rubble and letting them sit. I like mounting to branching rubble.

bkiba 07/30/2005 10:51 PM

what size frags are we donig here? I can make small frags for many people or larger frags for 2 or 3 people.... lets decide on a size that everyone would be happy with (or maybe depending on the morph and the partner)

rmhuntley 07/30/2005 11:04 PM

frag size is at least 5polyps

Scribe 07/30/2005 11:08 PM

Were going with a minumum of 5 polyps. Once I pair everyone up, you can decide with your partner if you want to do bigger pieces.

Hi Scribe,

YGPM. I'm interested in joining in on the fun if everyone will let me :)

kidzatheart 07/31/2005 04:42 PM

Are these what you would call brown zoos since the ring is brown? [IMG][/IMG]

My husband is wanting to join in on this but i need to know if these are what yall are saying no browns to. That way we will know how many we would have. He will be back later about joining.

MinibowMatt 07/31/2005 05:31 PM

I consider those a blue morph... brown skirt for sure, but the blue is nice...

kidzatheart 07/31/2005 05:37 PM

Thanks Matt. I LOVE that ric in your avatar. I want one of those...lol.

kidzatheart 07/31/2005 05:41 PM

Ok my husband wants in on this so i will PM info to scribe.

nitrofish 07/31/2005 07:08 PM

ive got either pink eyed zoo's or hot pink with green eyes. all will have close to 10 polyps or more. may also have a blue +green zoo depending on how the frag grows out.

rmhuntley 07/31/2005 07:36 PM

I think "brown zoos" is a little too vague. as long as they're not all brown, I think that its cool. it's not easy to find zoos w/ no brown on them in some areas

ecotoxlady 07/31/2005 07:53 PM

I would agree with that although I was planning on sending really colorful zo's in my swap i.e. eagle eyes, fire and ice, peach eyes, etc., so it would be nice to get something nice and colorful back. I think if get the opportunity to decide from some options with the people we've paired up with then if they have brown in them and we decide on that, that's cool. Am I interpreting this wrong? I was thinking we could maybe select or at least let the people we trade with know what we have to trade and they would do the same, or was this going to be a complete surprise in the swap? Either way, I'm cool with it but I'll probably give my partners some choices if they would like. Let me know what you all think.

yes, maybe saying no brown zoo's is a little vague. some of my favorites have some brown in them. I guess what we are trying to say is no ugly/dull zoo's. only trade something that you would like to get in return.

Crusty Old Shellback 08/01/2005 09:23 AM

True, no total browns I think is what we are trying to say. Those Pic's of the blue centers are fine by me.

I've bought some zoo's from Ahenson and got some great looking zoo's from him. I'd trade with him again but I think this time around, I'd like to give others a chance at his wares and trade with someone else. He's got some nice eagle eye's that I got along with some others tri color zoo's that are awsome. Thanks for the zoo's Andy.

MinibowMatt 08/01/2005 09:30 AM

I have Andys eagle eyes too--
Are they growing fast for you guys? Im only getting about 2 polyps per month.. most of my zoos grow faster than those....

Crusty Old Shellback 08/01/2005 10:09 AM

The one's that were sold as eagle eyes that I have are slow growers, matter of fact, I don't think they have any new growth since I got them a few months back. I did get some that look like the eagle eyes but are a different color w/ gray bodys. Some are growing fast, others are medium growth. But they all look good.

Stixbaraca 08/01/2005 10:18 AM

Mine seem to grow at what I would consider a very fast rate...5 plus polyps per month. I actually moved 2 other colors to make room for them!

MinibowMatt 08/01/2005 10:20 AM

I have seen Stixbaraca's EE's and they are different than mine, basically the same, but longer skirts, tighter growing polyps too. I am amazed at how fast his grow! (under PCs too) I only wish....

Stixbaraca 08/01/2005 12:34 PM

:D I love them!
