Jackson Hole Ski Photos
My two oldest daughters went skiing over New Year holiday in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. They returned yesterday and brought home photos, three of which are here.
#1: Elizabeth and Emily in front of the Teton range #2: On the slopes at the ski resort #3: Not the smartest thing Emily ever did |
Once again, beautiful daughters you got there, Doc!
Glad SOMEONE is skiing this season:rolleyes: |
Oh man!! How beautiful is that!?
One day I will live out west.... One day. |
nice pictures doc, good looking kiddos too
"don't mess with the moose" |
Looks like they're having fun. We haven't been up there for ages, and we go in the summer.
Hurt them over that moose pic. Many years ago I watched a new footage of one knocking a guy down that got too close. The moose moved in circles and kept kicking the guy till he was dead. It was on late at night, and they never showed it again. I've been horrified ever since. |
Nice pics. I can't believe how much skis have changed. Way shorter and shaped. I need to get out and rent some to se how they compare. Was it very cold in Jackson Hole? I have always like the areas close to Denver( Copper Mountain, Keystone etc..)

In pic#1, you can see they are cold weather gals. That's a great attribute.
|
the tetons have to be the prettiest place i have ever been to. we used to go to moose, wyoming, and spend a week horseback packing into the mountains. we saw every nook and cranny of those mountains and it every day was awesome.
see the "saddle" to the left of your girls in the first pic? that's what that formation is called. you can see, from left to right, the saddle horn, seat and cantle. i always wanted to take gary out there but we never got the chance. your daughters are so pretty, joey! :) |
Jackson is so beautiful in the summer. I guess it is in the winter as well but it is sooooooo cold!
Once you start to hate the cold the beauty and fun of snow start to fade. Next weekend I am off to Hilo for a month and THAT is the way winters should be spent. |

Great pictures. Going out to the Tetons again this summer.
|
Your daughters are beautiful, doc, but what amazes me more is the blue sky in Wyoming! :eek2: I've lived in Wyoming twice. All I remember is gray skies.
|
Gorgeous pictures!

I spent some time in the Jackson Hole ER once.
Good place to break some ribs. Heavy overcast and fast sleds don't mix well. |

it's beautiful todd! is it anywhere moose, wyoming?
Very close, the lodge was maybe 10 miles away from Moose. In fact when I was out there a couple of years ago I used the Post Office in Moose. Here is a google map of the area, you can see the town of Moose, the lodge is on the shore of Jackson lake, near the larger Island in the middle of it. Can't wait to go back. i used to take vacations at the triangle x ranch in moose. the first couple of years, we stayed on the ranch for a week. that got old, couldn't stand the city slickers so the last 5 years we went on pack trips up into the tetons. i peed behind a LOT of trees up there. ;)

You gotta watch out for the bears while camping and hiking in this neck of the woods.
|
 And here I've lived less than 150 miles from the Tetons/Yellowstone area for my whole life and have never been there.
|
that would involve leaving the ranch

You gotta watch out for the bears while camping and hiking in this neck of the woods.
all of our food was either kept in bearproof boxes or hung high in the trees. there were never any leftovers, everything either got eaten by us or put away. at one of our campsites, when we arrived, we saw bear tracks and bear scat everywhere but the whole time we camped there, we never saw a bear. i'm sure the bears saw us. ;) |
