Prodibio products, anyone?
 

Anyone ever heard, seen, smell, tasted or felt these? Just wanting some input if you have. I spent a few hundred on these and was wondering if anyone has had any experience using them, or if I just threw my money in the crapper. From what I've read about them, and spoken to some folks out on the coast, they are better than Zeovit (but wait, I invented them, so they must be the best, right? LOL). If you have used them, please post some comments and or any info you have. Looking forward to maybe finally finding a way to create a more realistic biotope.

I've seen the name mentioned a few times before, but that's about it. Be sure to take some before and after photos to see if any changes are taking place.

Hopefully, someday someone will invent a method of keeping a "realistic biotope" without having to keep refreshing the micro-organisms with fresh money. Wait....does that sound right? :D

I will take some pics. I took the plunge, and hope to have some positive results. I've read and read a lot about them, and was going to go with straight Zeo products, but heard these worked much better, and are much easier to maintain on a schedule. I will be using one Zeo product with these. It's not that my tank isn't nice or that I have any problems, I'd just like to see what these steroids do. Maybe I'll try them on myself, have a cool mutation nickname, then we can name a coral after me. I'll share my secrects w/you John, but now one else. That way maybe we can take over the world together!!

Which Zeo product are you going to add in?

I've bought both Zeovit and Prodibio products and aren't using any of them....too scared that I might kill my corals. :rolleyes:

And just out of curiosity, where did you hear that the Prodibio works better? From an unbiased source, by any chance?

Yes unbiased, otherwise I wouldn't have been interested. I'm dosing biodigest and biotim, the reefbooster and Zeospur2. Be careful not to OD on the zeospur!!!

I have dosed 2X now and I can tell. I didn't have a nutrient rich reef to begin with and honestly didn't have any real problems w/my tank, but wanted to accelerate my coral growth and color. I have a lot of what some people classify as 'rare' coral (I just classify it as what the heck was I thinking when I bought it coral because it's crazy high and I'm broke!). I can tell my water clarity is much better, and I haven't had to clean my glass at all since I have starting using it. In the past I had to scrape my glass about every 4 days or so. Things like my tyree PM and pink lemonade, and other various sps's are really seeming to respond and have even better color than I expected, but not because Prodibio is a coral enhancer, but because my water is just so dare much better than I thought I already had. I didn't think it could get much better, but it has, and I'm really impressed. . If you read my current tanks under this post, you can see what I'm running.

My source is a friend of mine out on the West Coast who cherry picks corals and fish, and yes, it's unbiased. He actually used to use Zeo and switched over and dropped me some info and pic's of his setup, so I thought, why not try it hear in the Mid-west (aka the reefing desert). I like to experiment!

I think I may be in "analysis paralysis." I ran Zeo for only 36 hours a month ago before I noticed coral lightening, some bleaching of tips, looked like light burn. Then a few of my SPS corals TN'd on me. People I asked about it on the Zeovit forum said that it was probably due to my Alk fluctuations and had nothing to do with Zeovit.

It's true that my ALk keeps fluctuating as I've had trouble getting my Calc Rx dialed in. I am measuring ALk daily and tweaking my bubble count 3-4 times a week to try to keep my Alk stable.

Anyway, I really want to try one of these systems when I feel it is safe to do so, but all the same I am a bit fearful of having another bad experience.

Thanks. Tell me more about your calcium reactor setup. Maybe I can help out. I have my GEO bubbling about 1per second, and an effluent rate of about 60ml's per minute. I had mine all set up wrong, then got it dialed in, was using the wrong media, etc. So, give me your equipment list and media, and I'll try to help you get that solved first.
