Liquid Calcium

Can I add kent's liquid calcium to my tank without throwing anything off?

IIRC, the 'Liquid Calcium' product is basically aqueous calcium chloride. This means that when you add it, you're not adding alkalinity. Eventually this will throw the calcium and alkalinity balance off.

Ok, if I add it, say once a month would it still throw it off, or would I be better off just not adding it at all, I just want my snails to be healthy, they are growing well.

It is just a calcium supplement. If calcium is low, you are better off adding it. If calcium is not low, you may be better off not adding it, as if it gets too high it may depress alkalinity. I'd suggest measuring calcium and alkalinity, and then deciding what to do. In practice adding a little probably won't help or hurt since to have a significant effect on calcium you typically have to add quite a bit.

Ok, thanks.

You're welcome.
