What is this?

Its recently been growing in my sump and fuge. Never saw it before. Its white and looks like a Spiders nest. It feels very slimey like its mucus. Theres no live animals in the sump that could be making it. In the fuge, there the same thing starting to cover all of th sand along with long strands of cyano, but it looks more yellow in the fuge. Any ideas? The first two pictures are of it in the sump around my skimmer. That chunk of it is about 5x5. The last picture is of the fuge, but its pretty hard to see it on the sand bed.

It looks like it might be padina but it is hard to tell as the photos are blurry.

No... I wish it were that. That actually looks good in my opinion. Mine looks pretty much identical to a spiders next. Its very slimey and mucusy though.

Is it easy to remove if you try and siphon it?

I just noticed the bottom picture, it looks like it might be red slim, or cyanobacteria.

There is cyano in the fuge (pic 3) but what I'm wondering about is the white algae in the sump (pics 1 and 2). Pic 3 is there because the same white algae is in the fuge covering the sand (well was), but its just hard to see it, esp the the cyano jumping right out at you.

Does it look like anything on this page?

Not really. Chrysophyte looks the closes out of everything on there. Perhaps its a type of fungi.

It looks like a died algae.
