Pens hockey team staying put?

All the local Pittsburgh news stations are leading with the story that the Pens are staying. Our ABC affiliate just said an official announcement will be made later today.

The governor of Philadelphia finally did something for western PA.

With the very recent history of the Pens sucking, it would have been a travesty for them to leave now that the kids are playing good hockey.

They didn't play last nite. Their last game was Saturday, which they won in OT, 3-2 against the Rangers. They play Buffalo tonite.

Then what was the score I saw on the TV this morning. We get nothing more than a few letters for teams and a number next to it so I may have mis read it.

They'll lose !

I'm in GA that is how we are lucky to get an abbreviation with a number. As I stated before I caught only a glimpse.....I made the assumption, also!

But these are THE PENGUINS!!!!!!!

A. She is in GA. You know how THOSE people are.
B. She is a female. Again, you know how THOSE people are.

Hold on a second there DHK!!! First I am not GA born and bred so take that out of the equation now. Second...I love penguins, the hockey team and the Eagles. If I had a choice I'd move there but I don't. I have to suffer with the redneck mentality of these people on a daily basis. Most of whom are very nice just not very bright. If I can get any kind of score from the news I'm lucky.

i HATE gary bettman, i want a hockey team back in hartford soooo badly. He doesnt want a team between boston and NYC though, which makes no sense seeing as new york state has 3 teams(rangers sabres, islanders)

even florida has two teams, people from florida, do you honestly watch hockey?

plus there was a chance for the pens to come up here

now now boys---every one knows that the rangers SUCK---they can only score 2 goals and then give the game away---the flyers REALLY SUCK---i just wonder if the FLYERS know how to play hockey----the pens are all young BABIES and just tonight were let back in their home---and the DEVILS are a well balanced,experienced hockey team that WILL be the 2007 Stanley Cup Champs----
