marine safe paint/opoxy

ive read the previous thread regarding putting a model airplane or car in the tank.

i have man made coral branches and polyps from thailand most likely via china,
they appear real and strikingly colorfull with somewhat low maintenance, however, with algea maintenance, they must be cleaned regularly and the paint is fading, im looking into a paint that could be applied then soaked for several days in a bucket. the paint from its maker in asia may not have paid much attention to toxicity of the paint, should i just look into a non-lead paint??? there are other reef inhabitants im interested in not killing.

[welcome]

I wouldn't trust any paint, personally, except some of the marine latex paints.
