what is the adhiesive to bond live rock??
I have a 74 gallon bow-front right now and I am going to up grade to a 220 gallon in-wall set up, in my theatre room. My question is when I put my live rock into my new set-up I want to have the rock permanetly where i want it. I would like to know what is the best glue to use?

There is the hold fast epoxy. It cures underwater.

An LFS suggested the hold fast epoxy to me as well. It cures wet.

You can also find the "hold fast putty" at Home Depot. Cheaper.

the Home Depot stuff works as well as anything - which you will understand to mean inconsistent. I've had rock hold with various putties, epoxies, etc. and refuse to bond with the same stuff. If you're building a structure whose stability is imperative - holding up other rock, precarious positions, etc. - drill holes in the rocks and join with plastic/acrylic rods and epoxy to make sure they stay together.
By the way, welcome to RC :D |

I agree that the epoxy products don't tend to stick very strongly, in my experience. Acrylic bar supports do help. |
get the stuff deltec makes....i forget what its called aqauscape or something....its really strong and good.
