GSMs and onyx clownfish

i have a pair of baby onyx clowns in a bc14 for now. theyre gaining their colors, but no pics right now. when i first started in the hobby i bought a tank that came with two GSMs, but traded them out later once i read that they were too small for it.
the female liked showing off, it seemed

Despite their temperment, I'd have to agree that the GSM's take the cake as far as looks.

GSM's all the way.

I would have to agree.

I would almost say A. Nigripes but they are so difficult to ship and they are rarely for sale. It is just too bad that they are touchy fish as they are so pretty.

Tyler.L 01/08/2008 11:06 PM

yep chrysopterus all the way i could had some a pair for $100 but i didnt take them, some day i will, some day!

another one is akindynos and tricintus but its chrysopterus first!

LargeAngels 01/09/2008 03:23 PM

Chrysopterus, then GSM. Here is my 5" female white tail.

I'm in love with latezonatus.. they are large but elegant and their personalities are of the sweetest temperment.

I'm also very fond of misbar\picasso type percs with just absolute silly markings

phender 01/09/2008 06:08 PM

I really like A. fuscocaudatus (sp?), but to tell you the truth, it would be very hard for any clowns to be prettier than my first pair of ocellaris.

raleej337 01/09/2008 07:41 PM

B/W Occelaris

traveller7 01/09/2008 08:27 PM

Well out of all the clowns I have had, I am down to chrysogaster, nigripes, and B&W ocellaris so it must be one of those species....

Prob the chrysogasters though, I still find myself watching them for hours on end.

Victor1046 01/09/2008 08:37 PM

Hey LargeAngels that is a beauty!!!!! Where did you get it?

jksteele010 01/09/2008 09:42 PM

A. polymnus, preferably the black variant.

Dante_JoseCuerv 01/09/2008 11:26 PM

I prefer the black and white ocellaris, like the one that have no orange on them. Either that or Rod's mama onyx.l.. she's so beautiful.

dzeadow 01/09/2008 11:40 PM

what about a rod's mama's baby? These guys are my new fav's:

Dante_JoseCuerv 01/10/2008 12:00 AM

They're cool, but I just prefer rod's mama. The big fat one!

bamack2 01/10/2008 12:10 AM

Jovreefer 01/10/2008 11:58 AM

Picasso true percs, I love the uniqueness in each one no 2 look the same.

Maika'i 01/10/2008 04:34 PM

Do all GSM clowns eventually darken to the that dark dark maroon like the one above? mine are still young but they are just a vibrant red.

timrandlerv10 01/10/2008 04:50 PM

maika'i: yes. or mostly so :)

i would have to nominate:
Spawning GSM's in a dark BTA. especially in my tank :D

Ebisan 01/10/2008 06:38 PM

I really liked my Clarkiis but GSMs are really nice looking.
