question with hanging fixtures
hi,
can anyone give suggestions on what you're using to hang your fixture from the ceiling. i do see the hooks at home depot but i don't think it is very attractive. please let me know if you know of anything else. thanks |
Sunlight supply has a hanging kit I think.

i went to hd and bought some steal bars, bent them to bolt to my stand and then bent them and bolted my fixture to them. nothing hanging from the ceiling and it works pretty well.

You can buy the steel wire and all the goodies to make it work at HD or Lowes. Ikea has them as well with some attractive hardware and nice thin wire. They use it to hang curtains.

do you have a pic of your hanging fixture?
i like these but at $30 a set, i need 2, would be more than what i would like to pay to hang my light canopy. http://aqua-medic.com/aquafit.shtml |
I can take a pic... its kinda ghetto, but much better than the rusty chain I had.

I have the PFO hanging kit. While it costs $29.95 for a pair, the lug nuts that go to the drywall DO look professional. I still think it's somewhat pricy though...
btw, you can attach the cable to any kind of pendant you want to use. |

if you have a hanging kit and it uses screws i used toggle bolts for my light and they hold up to 25 pounds per bolt and they hide into the ceileing and when you screw things into them there is a little butterfly that opens on the other side of the wall and holds it firmly. and pretty much invisible.

heres what I used
http://www.discount-hydro.com/productdisp.php?pid=476&navid=46 I hung a 3 light hamilton fixture, almost too heavy. But works good IMO. |

|
You can also hang them off the wall using shelf brackets.
