Read both of those---they're the accumulated best info on how to start and maintain marine tanks. Parts may not make sense: just skip those and go on to what does. Later on, come back to the parts that didn't make sense and they'll be very informative for you. This is a hobby full of jargon and odd pieces of gear, chemical processes, and yet---fairly basic common sense: keep records, test your water often, and get a clear picture of what you're going to do before you start your tank. Get an idea what kind of critters you want, get a tank that suits, lighting that suits them, and then ask in the forum for anything you feel those two threads didn't explain all the way.
