toby puffers reef safe?

does anyone have experiences with the smaller toby puffers in the reef? i know they are not suppose to be reef safe, but i heard from a friend that some species are.

I had a female valentini puffer for about two years in a reef and sometimes she picked at mobile inverst like snails and hermits though I never saw her eat one. She would also pick at monti cap to keep her teeth trimmed but it was about the same as the growth rate. I had her in with peppermint shrimp and cleaner with no problems for over two years. Stay away from the hawaii version. Also to be noted the need to be fed alot and will eat out of your hand, they are also very smart.
