Heat Packs

Where would you find heat packs. thanks

Try Wal-Mart. I have used them with no problems. They are in the sporting goods section.

Thanks ZNUT REEFER, Do you put them next to the bag or container you are shipping.

taping them to the lid works.not letting them come in contact with the bag is my preference and also they do not work if wet the 24 hr ones are the ones i use

Sure. No I wrap them in a sheet of news paper and then tape them to the lid of the box that I'm shipping. Don't put them close to any livestock it will cook them. They get pretty hot. HTH :)

Here is a ebay link for 40 hour heat packs.
Many people ship stuff with 20 -24 hour heat packs and the package sometimes gets delayed.
In cold weather, this can mean the death of most corals unless you use a longer rated heat pack.
You can get Uniheat packs in 40-48 and 72 hour heat packs.
Also remember, the heat pack is activated with oxygen. So if you seal up the container,,, as soon as the heat pack uses up the oxygen in the package, it will go out and the corals will get cold and die.
