Here's a picture of mine, showing how it's sorta dripping over the edges:

I notice some of your pics showing how your corals are pushing out and starting to plate. Is what mine is doing a function of the water flow? I have a small amount of cross-flow from both directions and it's under where the skimmer dumps out. Any help's appreciated.

Yep, very similar but not so much pink ;)

Stoneyscoral 02/08/2007 07:29 AM

It is the Orange Sherbert, Beakerbob was kind enough to set me up w/ a piece.

BeakerBob 02/08/2007 07:53 AM

Yup, that's the original Orange Sherbert from JCigars! It has great color and grows very well. Here is a shot of it about 6 months ago. I fragged 3 pieces, sold 2 and donated the 3rd frag for a club raffle. A lucky reefer bought one and won a second one in the raffle! I'll let him step forward if he wants to be identified

longra, you may have to place your echino on a flat surface to get it to grow horizontal. I have several that will droop like yours and form a hard dome-shaped skeleton. That makes it difficult to frag and I don't think it looks as nice as the flat growing ones.

I glued the edge of a flat frag onto this vertical rock and you can see that the growth is "dripping" downward where it is unsupported and upward where it is against the rock:

Stoneyscoral 02/08/2007 10:07 AM

That was a lucky day for me!!!!!

I even won a gift card from Pruess on the same day.

Off topic but anyone who visits Lansing Michigan has got to check out Pruess, what a great store.

aquaconnect 02/08/2007 12:19 PM

I'd post a new pic of mine, but I can't figure out how to make it smaller, so here you go, same as my avatar, but I do need to update my pic as it has grown so much!

fussoverthis 02/08/2007 03:53 PM

I have a pic of Larry's Watermelon somewhere...lemme see if I can find it.

Great shots everyone. Aquaconnect, I can help you with that if you want...

BeakerBob, thanks for the info. Now, if I could only figure out how to bring back its bright coloration. Not sure if it's too much light or too little.
