(re)Building of an 1100 gallon FOWLR!

First a little background on the tank.

Display tank is of Wooden construction with fiberglass coating inside and out. Viewing pane is 3/4" glass.
The sump system was home made, wooden with epoxy paint, over time (about 8 years) they began to rot and leak, very badly. The desision was made to tear it out, and replace with rubbermaid tubs.

The display had crushed coral atop a plenum. I decided this would be the perfect time to tear out and replace with a dsb.

Okay, lets get started! Tank has already been emptied, and sumps tore out. I began rebuilding the aquascaping.

A couple of milk crates act as base. I reinstalled some of the old coral skeletons to give it a more realistice 3d look.

I then started adding some of the freash live rock as water was avalible to fill the tank. even with a 300gpd RO unit, it takes a while to fill!

A bit more rock left to add, but its starting to look like something!

I need to drill out a hole for the intake of my closed loop pump. I will be using a dart pump.

Waiting on the electrical work to get finished up so I can start seting up the sumps as well.

More to come soon!

Close up of rock with some sargassum starting to grow iff it. I think that will look cool once it grows in. I'm sure the blue spot unicorn tang will wipe it out though!
