Which Macro Lens - Sigma or Tamron

Been looking to pick up a decent used Macro Lens. I would love to get the Nikkor, but its just too much. I was looking at the following two.

SP AF90mm F/2.8 Di Macro Lens 1:1
Sigma MACRO 105mm F2.8 EX DG

And if you happen to have one of these lenses, if you can post some examples of macros.

Thanks,

Jeff

Should mention this is for a Nikon D50

I've seen good work from the Sigmas and heard great things about the Tameron 90. Personally I use the Nikkor 105 VR (though the VR isn't necessary for macro/tripod mount photography).

The Tamron 90mm goes for around 225 used, which is about my price range, the sigma is around 300. Janderson, if you want to let it go for around 250, you got a deal, but i highly doubt you want too.

anyone have some samples?

You are right I have some pics from it on this thread about 2/3 down on the first page. I paid 899.00 from local Camra Shop and have all recepts.

What I don't like about either of those is that the lens changes length during focusing. On a normal lens that's fine but doing macro, that's a real pain in the butt.

I use the Sigma 150 and really like the focal length and sharpness as well. It is a bit more money than the Tamron 90 and Sigma 105 though.

Both lenses are great if they are the ones within your price range.

Mind you, there's nothing budget about these lenses' image quality, they are up there with the rest of the $1K+ ones.
