Aquascaping on new tank
 
Working on setting up a 65 reef for a couple months; here’s some pics of my aquascaping efforts. ((First time submitting pics...so here goes))

These pics are a couple weeks old. My coralne algae is beautiful but I also have a fast growing green algae on the glass and sand.

65 Gal
90 lbs live rock - Kaelini
65 lbs live sand - aragonite
2 Hydro’s – 1200, 600, 1 Maxi-jet
Aqua C Remora Pro w/ Mag3
2x150 MH, 4 96w T5
Marineland Magium filter for occasional cleaning
HOB refugium (not yet installed)

4 Green Chromis ( I may remove them)
1 Ocellaris clown
6 cleaner clams (2” ea)
1 Emerald crab
12 Certh , 20 Nassarius snails
6 Dwarf blue leg hermits

i think you have a good look going,will cool with stuff growing on the rocks.i do suggest making the stack on the left side a bit shorter as you want to leave plenty of room for grow out.just my opinion

i will be setting mine (same dimensions) up the same way. i like two separate rock formations w/sand between.

you might want to pull it away from the left side of the glass enough to get a mag-float through. otherwise, that corner will get dirty and be a pain to clean.

Thanks for the feedback, I can use it.

This design is based on a Fiji rubble-zone (midway between the beach and the reef) where wave action is strong and everything is blown away except the rock formations and a little rubble in the sand. I had the pleasure of snorkeling a few years ago and this is what I remember. Tried to make it as real as possible, just smaller.
Plan is to load it up with SPS and a few soft corals.

With the exception of one small rock point, I can get the mag all the way around the tank; makes cleaning very easy.
