regardless, i believe that feeding even every day is too often. i feed two days on, and then one off. and only once a day each time i feed.

anthais

Anthais need to be feed two to three times a day (Small feedings)

The others you could go once a day I'd say IMO

i read that hence the type of question but how you stop 3 fast tangs from feeding

"ere no thats not yours leave alone and get in your basket"

seams to fall on deff ears lol

LOL

I see your Point........

Here are a few questions.....

What much are you feeding them now?
they appear the be starving??? meaning they are not eating??
what are you feeding them?
what size are the tangs compared to the anthias?

*leeinengland* 05/30/2007 05:16 PM

feed them pinch of veggie and pinch of vit rich marine mix (dried) soke in vit spray then drop into tank water in a jug swill ond pour in
then on a night same again with frozen foods
then when main lights go out 1 ltr worth of live brine shrimp and a ltr of phyto for all filterfeeders mailnly but fish still swim round picking them off apart from clowns who just hover and move there heads at break neck speeds

tangs lipstick 6 inch koles 4-5 inch and yellow same 4-5 anthus 3-5 inch blenny about same

all fish are nature and i have had the pleasure of watchingthem grow to these sizes

tank inhabbitants appier to be startving as everything under the roof comes out fish dart round like mad like theres just not enough food crabs skurry around enen all the little brittle stars come out for food ? lights on at that when i say little i mean 1-2 cm little

Test Test Test Test

Looks like your feeding them plenty..... I would try to spread the feeding out (If you have the time some people do this thing calle d work) or get an automatic feeder.

also when putting in frozen foods (Anthias like this most) thaw them good and pour it in over the entire tank side to side make them race across the entire tank to get food. Giving them more chance to "Race" or beat the tangs to the food.

you might try increasing your frozen foods too but be VERY care to test daily while changing your feeding patterns. You can add little by little test for phosfates as it starts to rise you know the fish are consuming less and more food is being wasted...
Thus cuasing algea and other water issues.

FYI ......I would not be to worried about starving the fish there seem to be more than enough food in the tank to get by they'll eat till they die if you let them! I'd worry more about the water issues of over feeding!
