I took some new shots today and figured I'd share some. The tank is a standard 29, with a sunpod 150w HQI with phoenix 14k. My not so great quality camera makes it appear more blue then it really is. Any comments, questions, and suggestions welcome.

Yea the ricordia garden is pretty wicked. Are you getting them to split and frag? I have a couple that have looked great for about 2 years but have never multiplied at all.

As a quick fix for the blue, try downloading Google Picasa (its free) and use it to adjust the white balance. I did it for one of your pics, see the difference?

I love the way American reefers proudly display their frags of Duncanopsammia, when they are as cheap as chips and dismissed here in Australia. How much Aussie coral volume are you guys getting now-much?

wow, thanks for all the kind words everybody, it means a lot. I'll try to answer everyones questions.

ridinfast03- Thanks man. I've had a few split for me. 1 neon green florida has split twice giving me 4 from 1! The large orange rics on the rock were once 1 huge ric. My frogspawn fell on it, triggering it to split into 3! A couple others have split on their own, but it is a very slow process from my experience. I've been resisting the urge to slice them up as I have some big ones!

Angel101- you're lucky to live in Aus, quite a nice variety of stuff coming out of Aus. I could see how the duncan is nothing special there, but it is one my fav corals right now! My large colony is so neon green, it may be the brightest green in my tank!

acrylic_300- I think zoanthid skirt size is directly related to the flow patterns that they are placed in, and also specific types of zoanthids will obviously have thicker skirts then others. Such a variety in this hobby!

ben&bobbi- Yes, I have a 30" sunpod fitted with a new 14k phoenix bulb. This is my only lighting on the tank, besides the LED moonlights and a bit of light that escapes into the tank from the HOB fuge. My schedule is:

9am-turn on LEDs/HOB fuge light
10am-7pm HQI
8pm- turn off fuge light and white leds
11pm blue leds off

right now I'm running the tank on 9 hours of MH, in the summer/spring I increase it to 10 hours, that's about it.

No problem. Just in case you didn't know, "color temperature" is the same thing as white balance and what Picasa calls it. For your pic, I just moved the color temperature slider all the way to the right.

Same as Royal Gramma and Catalina Gobies are here. I wonder how much those, or a nice Queen Angel would cost down under?:D

Be careful of your clown hosting in a brain. If it sleeps at night very inert, the brain may think its food.

Just to be safe, get it a frogspawn or a torch (euphyllia)

Last I heard, ricordia goes for a fortune down there.

Angel, demand for Aussie corals has slowed down a bit here. Still, Australia produces the nicest looking specimens of LPS on the planet in most people's opinions.

Very nice tank. Your a brave soul for keeping zoas and acros that close together. I wish I could because your tank looks very nice, but I'm too lazy to prune zoas. :)

dkh: 8.5-9 via lamotte test kit
Ca: 420 via API test kit
Mg: 1350 via Salifert test kit

Fish(pretty maxed out, tho I'm tempted to add 1 more small 1 :-)):
african flameback pygmy
small lawmower blenny
cellaris clown
velvet fairy wrasse
pink pseudochromis of some sort.

1 fire shrimp and 6 nassarius snails.

This was a concern for me when I saw the clown began to host the wellsophyllia. He seems to be a very "active" sleeper, I think he has restless fin syndrome :lol: . Also, most of the time he digs a bunch of rocks out from under the brain, and sleeps underneath it. The clown also has some size to him(~3"), so he's pretty stout and would be a tough meal. They've been together for over a year and no problems yet(knock on wood).

I used to have a bunch of euphyllia, and he never showed any interest in them. The frogspawn in the tank now used to be around 5 heads or so and was huge(relative to my tank), and he never went near it. I had a hammer coral the size of a grapefruit, and multiple torches, never touched any of them. Lately he has shown a liking to large duncan colony.

tacocat- Thanks a lot! In my experience, keeping zoanthids at the base of my acros has been no problem at all. The acros always win the encrusting war, and keep the zoas in check. My ORA german blue is still encrusting down and plowing through zoos in his way. I've yet to see zoos grow on and takeover a healthy acropora. Maybe I've just been lucky.
