its a bird its a plane its SUPER goby!!

ok so I have an egg crate top over my tank and out of nowhere my bar goby somehow got through the crate and flopped onto the floor like two feet away from the tank. My dad went to go feed the fish and saw him there and there was no puddle around him or anything and he was completely dried out. My dad put him back in the tank for some reason and the goby swam around and then sank to the bottom slightly under a rock. he protected himself from my eel and nurtured himself back to complete health in just one week. I am stunned. Is this normal!!

Yes gobies can and will jump all the time.

i'm not sure its normal for a completely dry fish to survive that though...

Glad he survived. That title made me laugh and laugh, thanks for that. :)

Not salt water but i had a fullgrown bristle nose pleco that was 8" long jump out and i saw my cat playing with somthing and i didnt really think any thing of it. Then when i was going up to bed about two hours later i noticed my cat was playing with it. So i put it back in the tank real quick and some how it survived.

I know eels can do it. They excrete a slime that protects them. I had a similar cat experience where my 3 cats were all sitting in a circle around a stick. When I went to throw the stick back outside it bit me! Seems that my snowflake eel had not thoroughly plotted his escape. I put him back in the tank and the next day he was back to eating like a pig. He never did try that again!

Reminds me of a time when I was younger. My gold fish was dried to the carpet, I put him back in and he lived.

Reminds me of when I was 3 and pulled my new gold fish "herbie" out of my tank, laid it on my pillow, and slept with it! Next morning, sucker was stiff as a board, stuck to my pillowcase. I cried! Never quite recovered! Good thing I'm not a sleepwalker with all the fish I have!
