clownfish shaking and biting

our clownfish seem to chase each other around in circles then the female bites the male, then he starts shaking. Is that good or bad?

If he may be being submissive, which is a good sign. submissive males are eventually accepted by the female.

He should be rolling over or upside down showing his belly.

That sounds like normal clown behavior. Maybe they'll spawn fairly soon!

thats true...you do have the same kind of clownfish right??

ArgonDreams 07/07/2007 10:02 PM

this is dominance behavior and the female is showing the male she is boss. Totally normal behavior, the shaking is his "I give up your the boss" behavior. Likely the will pair soon.
