the byscal gap is very much so gaping. what does this mean?
What does this mean?! Gaping is a term used to describe when the valves of the clam cannot close and it appears the mantle is withdrawing and seperating. It doesnt really have anything to do with the byssal area. Do you have a pic? |
I think he means it is opened very wide. Hence the comparison . Mods will probably change that title.
Yep - here's a good rule of thumb folks - if you wouldn't like to explain it to your eight year old son or daughter, don't post it. Thanks! Reefcherie RC Moderator |
whats open wide? The byssal opening, or the valves?
|
the inhalant opening is very wide.

Here is a good link to follow when asking for help with clams. http://archive.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1237978
It is very hard to see what you are dealing with unless you post a pic. Although I found it funny, you should probably choose your words wisely when posting. Some people will take offense to little things. |

the inhalant opening is very wide.
That may not mean anything. How does the clam looks as a whole? Is the mantle extending? |
i did a change and clam looks much better. mantle extending much farther and gap looks better.

Glad we could come to the rescue.
