just scoop them up Phong and sell them. if your too lazy for that then try harlequins?

ViPeR_930 12/25/2007 12:43 AM

Why does he want to get rid of them?

Harlequins won't eat brittles.

He said he has thousands of them. 250 lbs of rocks are covered by these guys. Scooping them out is not an option because they are kinda inside the rocks and only sticking their arms out. Also his rock are quite big. Most of the pieces are like 20"x20". He has Harlequins but it doesn't do anything to these guys. He doesn't mind some but it got to a point that it looks like his rocks are moving because of them :D ..

I would try a Bodianus spp. wrasse.

Elite 12/25/2007 03:35 AM

Hi Matt,
Got a link that has pic of the fish?? I don't have a clue what it looks like :D .. Thanks !!

ViPeR_930 12/25/2007 03:51 AM

IIRC, Bodianus sp. is the genera of hogfish.

Thanks Justin.. I thought Hogfish is really reef safe.. Any recommend which hogfish I should get??

A large specimen of a peppermint or two-spot would be ideal, but that's easier said than done.

It's easy enough to find larger specimens of B. pulchellus, B. rufus, or B. mesothorax. I would try one of those. Keep in mind that any very small shrimp are possible prey.

Matt_Wandell 12/25/2007 07:30 PM

This fish would be good, and it's attractive and doesn't get too large. B. pulchellus:

Ocean's Treasures also happens to have an "Izu hog" (B. izuensis) right now that is pretty large.

I imagine that this fish could work too. Best of luck and let us know how it goes.

northbay-reefer 12/25/2007 09:21 PM

My Radian wrasse love those things, he picks them out of the roock and then crush them into another rock to break them up and then swallowed :D :D my banana yellow coris wrasse also eat them.

GreshamH 12/26/2007 12:10 PM

I've eaten them and they taste horriable :(

Elite 12/26/2007 01:36 PM

Gresham,
Did you try them with bread or Rice??
