Life-span of Lyretail Anthias?

Does anyone know the normal life-span of the Lyretail Anthias? Mine are doing great, I am just curious. I have had my harem for about a 1 1/2 now (no losses) and I was wondering how long I can expect to enjoy them.

i would say around 10 years if all goes well (meaning they are kept happy with water quality, good food etc)

Yes, they do hang out together most of the time. From everything I have read it is best to add them all at once and from the same source. Since you already have the male make sure you get 2 to 3 females and add them all at once.

Should be at least 10 years. Good Luck!

10 years. Has anyone here actually kept one, or a group of them anywhere near that long?

I had read somewhere that there were some species of anthias that had only 3-4 year lifespans. I wasn't sure if they fell into that group or not.

So has anyone kept a group over a year?

I had mine for about 5 years before they started to die off one by one. The male was the last to go.

I started with 5 & three lived to the 5 year mark.

I had a pair of bartletts in there with them also that lived 4 1/2 years.

I won't buy these again, as I have never heard of anyone that has had long term success (ten+ years)

I'm not interested in keeping any fish that won't have a chance to live ten years.

I am thinking that their life-span may be closer to what you experienced than 10 years...Yours may be the longest I have heard of so far.
