great news on the new home we should talk some time about moveing the chiller unit probily about and hour or 2 in just recovery of the freon before we can break any of the lines apart and most likley you should install a dryer when it is set back up. It might be good idea for me to have a look at it to get a good idea of what i am dealing with

ziac: The unit alreay has a dryer on it as well as some thing the shows the amount of moisture. Like a sight glass.

sight glass is to show if there is any air and if the freon is contanimanted it is good that they put on a dryer it has a decant bag that abzorbs moisture but when we open the system to move it the dryer that is there will be ruined. They are not very much and should be replaced every time you open a closed system

Today Deana and I started to work on the basement floor and I put some tape down to see where the tank/fish room was going to be. It was way too small so we came up with this. Now the fish room is very large and I will have room for a big 500G sump and some large 200G water storage tanks.

nice, the new layout looks good. Best of all, you will have a capable fish room with space and room for equipment and storage which im sure you will love compared to the old room. Not to mention the extra couch. Hopefully this layout will workout for you. Good luck.

yes it will have a door. The sump in the pic is not really a sump it more like a refugium that will gravity feed water into the main tank. This means I need to elevate that 500G tank about 3.5 feet. I’m trying to find the lowest cost solution to do that. Concrete block with plywood on top seems pretty low cost.
My other thought would be something like a water bed frame. I can bolt it to the wall to help make it more stable.

Started to move in today. Have the computer connected up.

We plan to move a lot of the big stuff tomorrow (sunday).
If anyone whats to show up your welcome to. Won't be moving any fish stuff yet. Just house hold items.

I hope to start by 9-10am. Just come on by the old house in Philo.

You could put it on the first floor. As a bonus you will get more square footage in your fish room :D :D :D :D

It made it into the basement tonight. I will post pics later. It took me all night to remove the outside doors and lower the tank in. It almost didn't feet through the second inside door way.
I just finished adding on the 2" bulkhead.

Brian: I still think I'm going to use your 300. Can you drop it by some time else I can pick it up. Let me know.

Anyone bored this weekend and want to move stuff your welcome to stop by. I may try to move some of the live rock, skimmer & lights Sunday.

I have about 400G in the tank at 8:00am Saturday. The temperature is 78 degrees and the Ph is 8.23. I think I will try to move some of the live rock later today to get a mini cycle started.

I move about 150 lbs of live rock and a few coral into the new tub. So far so good. I plan to move a little rock and coral each night this week and will move the fish and clams Saturday.
Monday night I have to get my skimmer connected up. I have it moved to the new house but did not have time to get it going tonight.

Sorry, I didn't notice your post until now.

You are welcome to the 300 tub, but I don't know when I am going to be in the area again (plus I am not sure my Explorer is big enough to hold it). You can pick it up or I can see if it will fit.

Well, I just found out that my Explorer is going to be out of commission until at least next week (differential needs worked on/replaced). I am certain the 300 gallon tub wont' fit in my Chrysler 300C :) David, if you need it this weekend it can be picked up in Mattoon, or if you can wait til next weekend hopefully my Explorer will be on the road again.
