my coffee and dining table are travertine marble and its well built. couldn't ask for better setup to go with the aquarium.:D

I think I'm the happiest guy who ALMOST has a tank in his house in Texas. "Sexy" and "beautiful" don't even come close to how incredible that tank looks. I'm going to Kingfish tomorrow to check it out in person. Then I'll have to arrange for either a friend with a big'ol truck to help me get it home (shouldn't be too hard in Texas, wouldn't you think?) or I could just rent a U-Haul. Either way, it's coming home with me and soon.

I know what you mean, Edward. The only downside with mine, as opposed to yours and naka's, is that you both had a lot of corals and rock in mature tanks that were immediately transferrable, whereas I'm pretty much starting from scratch. Actually, come to think of it, I've been spending so much time planning the tank, I forgot how much fun I'm going to have acquiring primo livestock. I'm a lucky man!

Actually I started from scratch too. I didnt transfer over any corals, fish or rocks. I purchased everything new. Buying rocks new is the best because you get clean fresh rocks straight from the ocean. My rocks are very clean. All my previous corals in my last tank I sold.

Would be cool mounted on the floor as a look down like an atoll. :D

invincible569 - I remember that you started out anew, my mistake. My first tank was/is a 30g cube, and I had a nice collection of acros started but it got wiped out during the treatment of AEFW's. Not to mention battling bryopsis, red bugs, 'run-of-the-mill' flatworms, and a mantis shrimp that tricked me into thinking I wa a fish killer. I have no regrets -- the whole nano tank was a great learning experience, and it better prepared me for this current setup.

thesaent14 - Thanks for the compliment. The tank is currently at Kingfish Aquarium here in Austin, not in my home, so I can't take a close-up of the glass/PVC joint for you, but I will in time. Please remind me if I forget.

GSMguy - What you wrote was quite nice, thank you. You're right that a large influence for this rimless tank came from invincible and naka, and like I mentioned early on some of the european tanks. Another beautiful example for me, although on a much grander scale, is the tank of [url=http://archive.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1053276]chingchai[/URL]. That tank convinced me that it's okay to have a wavebox in an open-top tank. Initially, and like many others, I didn't want ANY powerheads or extra equipment in the tank, but his system proves that those large intrusions can be made almost imperceptable if the aquascaping is done right, and if the corals are properly placed.

I went to Kingfish today and saw the tank in person. It's larger than I saw in my mind, and the dimensions are very appealing to the eye. I owe props to John and Brian for uncrating everything for me and putting it in their shop until I'm able to get it home. We decided we're going to finish out the sump (Brian is the acrylic Sensei) and begin the initial stages of the plumbing with it at the shop, then I'll get it home once it's closer to being ready to be filled.

Very true...James and Ed really inspired me...got some good advice from them. I'm in a plumbing stage right now for my 210g Elos tank....same as Fliger's tank. So, excited to get it done so I could relax and just enjoy the "ocean view" in front of my living room.

Thanks hawaiinwargod for the props but I have to say, this is most definitely Mike's project. We came up with an incredible plan and I think you'll see that our tank base is going to be solid.

His office tank on the other hand is my child and I'll have to get the new camera out there soon and get ya'll some pictures.

Definitely an AWESOME tank.

AGE is right down the street from me, but the $$$ for a project like this is far down the road for me with 2 kiddos hitting college in the next 1-2 years.
