Feel free to flame me for the very average pictures, my zoas arent as beautiful as others on this forum, but its hard to find those type of colours here in AUS.

mfinn 12/08/2007 10:55 PM

Anybody that wants to flame you, can leave. IMO
I think you have some nice looking zoanthids.

otiso777 12/08/2007 11:26 PM

They look great to me! I've never seen zoas like the ones in the third picture

not the best quality.. lol but those are some of my favorites

MUCHO REEF 12/09/2007 10:43 AM

The quality is great my friend, don't worry. It would be nice if everyone could go back and share some details on the pic, growth rate, additives, lighting, conditions, parameters, etc. This makes it more than just a picture thread, it's pictures along with helpful info for others.

Thanks to each of you for sharing them.

Mucho Reef

Not sure what either of these are called, but I like them so much I want to get some more Zoas.

Edit: The first ones are rather small polyped but with large growth rates. The colony was obtained in May and has almost tripled in size. I need to frag it out soon as they have decided to grow into my anemone.

The second one was a hitcher into my Mantis tank. It was less than 1/4" in diameter, and is now more than 1/2". It seems to be solitary, though, as there hasn't been any babies yet.

JokerGirl 12/09/2007 04:11 PM

double.. sorry

<JAW DROPS!>

RevHtree 12/09/2007 10:57 PM

Oh almost forgot....

You can see my current tank specs in my signature. While this is my current set up, many of these morphs have been kept in a variety of setups and conditions. I truly believe that most all zoas and palys can be acclimated to any type of tank setup and lighting and thrive. Some will do better than others and some will just sit still on you and not budge, but it really doesn't take much to make them happy.
Don't get me wrong, you can kill them, but given the proper tank water specifications they can and will thrive.

I can say that under compact fluorescent lighting my zoas/palys had the worst growth and color. I find that they grow best for me under MH lighting and decent flow.
