Hi,

I am now setting up a 180 reef, when that is complete I would like to set up a 50-80 sea horse tank. My problem is that I don't know anything about keeping these guys. I have been reading this board and found a lot of good info, THANK you all for that.

Can anyone recommend a book about keeping sea horses. I would like to get some more basic info before I start the tank.

Thanks,

Will

your best book is called seahorse.org... ok, so it's not exactly a book, but it beats all books on the market in my opinion. and, it's free! btw, 50-80 gallons is a bit large for a seahorse tank. you might consider something in the range of 20-40 gallons to start. have fun!

Remember seahorse can use a deep tall tank for breeding, so think 40 tall, 90 tall.

Hi,

Yes, from what I have read I will be going with a tall tank. I fond two books at Amazon.com and ordered them. As soon as I fininsh up my 180 I will be setting up my horse tank.

Thanks,

I don't have any books to recommend but I can tell you that the horses are the most mesmorizing of all my creatures, I also have a 125 full blown reef. I would recommend visiting oceanrider.com, lot's of good info, products, and links. Good luck to you!
