Over the past three weekends, I have taken photos of one of my corals to compare growth from week to week. I plan to do this with a few of my corals. I'm going to try to keep as much of the same angle/closeness in the photos as I can.
Is this coral showing good growth for the time span covered?

It looks twice as big in the second picture. That's some amazing growth!

Well I zoomed in quite a bit in the second pic, not really intending on it, so that makes it look even bigger. But I started comparing the edges and saw a lit of ridges that were bigger than before and I thought this might be a cool idea to record the growth on film.

hey michelle, try turning off all your pumps and let the tank settle for 15 minutes prior to taking pics.

I always seem to take pictures right after a water change...that's why there is debris floating everywhere. ;)

As far as Im concerned, any growth is good growth :). If stuff is growing I am happy. Its too hard to look at something and say if its growing as good as it is in somone else's tank. I used to think my growth was slow, but when you look at pictures of my tank from like 6 months ago...some stuff is just huge in comparison.

I don't know if I agree with you, I've been growing and that's not good growth. :D
I could re-apply your statement...."I used to think my growth was slow...when you look at pictures of (things) from like 6 months ago...some stuff is just huge in comparison."
