What do the Vice Presidently duties entail?

The Vice-President's primary duty is to assist the President in doing his/her job.

Some of the President's duties are:

1. Sets the general direction for the club
2. Creates a portion of the newsletter and submits it to the secretary (me) for release to the members
3. Handles public relations

The Vice-President works as a team with the board of directors at meetings to help make decisions, brainstorm ideas for group outings, find ways to fund those activities, and come up with ways to encourage new members to join. All of the members of the board work as a team and come to agreements when decisions are made.

The Vice-President will also fill in and act as President should he/she be required to.

The person who is elected as Vice-President should also have the ability and willingness to attend regular meetings that are held here in Bloomington. Currently we are meeting frequently since the club is just getting off of the ground, but eventually we estimate that twice a month or possibly even once a month may be sufficient. The board also keeps in close contact via e-mail, generally every day.

Hmmm....are you interested in the position?

I nominate AslanTheKing (as long as he is interested).

I'm not able to commit to attending two meetings a month in B/N; one per month would be a bit of a stretch given my travel schedule and honeydew list.

Please remember to PM the person that you have in mind and verify that they actually want the job. :)

People being nominated also need to keep in mind that we sometimes meet during the week, so they need to be able to make those meetings should it be required.

LOL, sorry about that! I guess it would make sense to make sure someone is actually interested in the position before trying to pawn it off on them. Please ignore my nomination. If a mod can delete it, that would be fine by me.

No big deal!!! Just wanted to avoid confusion if someone got elected and didn't even know they were in the running. :D

Okay, so it's my turn....

I nominate Horace.

Thanks for the thought Benny Z. But I live About forty+ miles from Bloomington and dont have that kind of free time during the week.

I didn't want to make it sound as if we always meet during the week...generally it's on weekends. There just may be occasions where a weekday meeting is needed. The great thing is that we are flexible. :)

If this is an election, and Phil wants to forward my name, I'll go on the ballot. I believe there are better folks for the job, so I'll just leave it at that.

Peace

We might have our first actual runoff for an office! OK guys, try to limit the mudslinging (there's too much of that going on already on TV). ;)

AslanTheKing, I apologize for nominating without talking to you. But, I'm glad to see you accept.

-Kevin H.

PS: AslanTheKing, your last name doesn't start with an "H" too does it?

I will vote for Aslan.

Could you make the voting post on the BNARC site? It might help make sure only BNARC members vote. Also, am I allowed to vote since I haven't yet paid dues because I'm planning to pay at the next meeting?

The post is being approved by the board and will be posted tomorow it will include how to vote and what is necessary to vote.

we actually may want to think of leaving this thread up for a couple days to get all the nominations first...just a suggestion.

I concur. Is there a rush for the new VP?

Could the vote wait until the next club meeting, or is there too much work that needs done between now and then to wait that long? Just a thought. Also, it would allow those that haven't paid dues yet a chance to do that in person. Also, it would give everyone another chance to meet the people they will be voting for. Again, just my $.02

LoL, I just remembered I am not a paying member. So I cannot cast a vote for Aslan. Never mind then.

There isn't a VP right now.

I really appreciate the nomination, however at this moment in time, I really dont have the time to put forth. I am more concerned about getting our website up to speed for the time being.
