Jakes Pizza in downtown Normal closed it's doors last night, it appears to be for good. :(

Not at lunch. The slice at lunch was one of my fave things to do if I got caught in Normal around lunch time. More pricey than Michealeo's lunch, but much tastier.

Peace

Kevin

Are you serious? That has to be one of the worst pizzas I've ever had.

Hey now, I like Tobin's too.

And you liked Jake's?? Ew!

Michelle which of their pizza did you get thick/pan or thin?
I did not care for their pan/thick.
Mama Theresa's at Tobins is very good IMO.
It's really all a matter of personal preference. I know quite a few people who love Little Ceaser's and I despise it.

Yeah, I tried the thick pan. I only tried Jake's once, so I can't really be any judge of it. I agree, it's all in what you like.

I just like hassling Brad.

I'm with Michelle- thought to be fair, I also only tried the pan.

Rosati's is a chain from around where I am from- I haven't had it in a few years, but they used to be decent.

Man, now I know what I need to do when I go home this weekend....

Mmmmm.... real pizza....

Agreed, I only like thick crust and Chicago style. I don't like a pizza that i can eat by self and still be hungry.

Haha... Brad I am with ya on that deep dish pizza from the Chi. I have been up to Cubs games and it is a tradition to get deep dish while we are up there. Tobin's SPECIAL style Momma Theresa's pizza with tomatoes and sauce puts most of those Chicago thick crust to shame.

I'm glad this thread came up. I'm a HUGE fan of Chicago style pizza. I had no idea that Tobin's made a thick crust with tomatoes...is it made with the sauce on top? I know what I'll be having this weekend....

And Ben....Monical's with the dressing on it...I'll never go back to eating it without the dressing. Yummy.

I'm hungry.

Haha... well Tobin's can do it with no tomatoe sauce at all and just real tomatoes or the other way around. But my favorite is to have BOTH. Tobin's also has good french and ranch to dip the pizza in!

In my household (COLLEGE GUYS) we consume an average of about ten pizzas per week.. we can let you in on ANY pizza questions!

If you guys are ever in Champaign you should try Zelmas It is owned by Monicals original owner & its much better than the current Monicals. Papa dels on the UofI campus cant be beat either. You guys have a Papa Murphys in B-N? Is not bad for the price, made to order then you take it home & put it in your own oven. Thick crust Chicago style loaded for about $12

I get Papa Murphy's pretty often. They're good for a take-n-bake...beats a frozen pizza by a long shot and at a comparable price.

When in Chicago Lou Mallnati"s pizza is the best I have ever had anywhere. I travel often and by far it is the best. Thick crust with butter. I may need to go next week.

Heck Yea we go to the bars on U of I's campus a lot and get food down there a lot. Qdoba is in a perfect location but it is usually Wise Guy's pizza on Green Street that we settle in with. Ive never had it sober but its great when you have been drinking.
