Hi all!

I have 4 Blue's and I am seeing some very "odd" actions and wondering if...

well here is some info:

55 Gal tank, 4 blues one is larger than all the rest.
the large one is about 2 inches long.
I have had him/her for about 6-7 weeks.

around the mouth and the anal fins there is a "wisp" of bright yellow color not present on the smaller blues.

the body of this one seems "thicker" more "chunky" that the rest.
otherwise they are the same in color & so forth.

this one is moving small rocks away from one spot. Making a hole in the bottom of the tank.
using a large flat rock like a "roof" for the "fish cave" it is making.
some of the small crushed coral bits are actualy beeing carried half way doen the tank and placed on a red "False pipe organ" coral skeleton.

looks like his/her idea of "Decorating" the tank!

I have not seen any "Pair swimming" or "rubbing" so far.

any ideas?
is this "pre spanwing" action or just some random "Damsel attitude behavior"?

thanks!

I can answer this for you, at least part of it.

The damsel that is removing rock and making a "hole" is a male trying to attract one of the female damsel's in the tank.

Ahhhhhh.....

I figured there was something like that going on.

can anyone tell me if there are any visual cues to sex?
(size,color details, etc...)

I have one that is much larger 3 that are "about the same"
most of the time it is the big one doing the
"Decorating" and (he?) has the touches of yellow around the mouth and anal fins, the smaller ones do not seem to have the yellow.
